PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method to mount a spiral coil insert. SOLUTION: This prewinder device to mount on a driving tool to mount the spiral coil insert is constituted so that a rotatable tubular sleeve in an adapter mounted on the driving tool is engaged with the driving tool and a mandrel has a first end part with a screw and a pin extending in the crossing direction from a second end part arranged in a slot in the longitudinal direction. A stopping part slides in an adapter member, and the sleeve is stored free to rotate. A stoppage adjustment device arranged free to rotate in the adapter member has a female screw to be engaged with a male screw of the stopping part. The stopping part is free to move in the axial direction in the adapter member and the stoppage adjustment device can be arranged stepless along the male screw of the stopping part by rotating it by hand. Specified movement in the axial direction of the stopping part is caused by a ball or a male type detente member energized to be engaged with a detente cavity of the stoppage adjustment device.
