PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compact zoom lens barrel which does not require an expensive sensor even if an actuator whose moving amount is uncertain is used, and which can use an inexpensive sensor. SOLUTION: In the lens barrel having a plurality of lens groups made movable and a plurality of actuators for moving the respective lens groups, a plurality of photosensors are arranged for one moving lens group, and the position of the lens group is discriminated based on output from the plurality of photosensors.
