Display device with reduced flickering

摘要

A method of reducing flickering in a display device and a display device made with such method are presented. The method includes determining a previous image signal g<Sub>N-1</Sub>, determining a current image signal g<Sub>N</Sub>, and selecting a modified signal g'<Sub>N</Sub> from a set of predetermined modified signal values by using g<Sub>N-1</Sub> and g<Sub>N</Sub>. Each predetermined modified signal value in the set is selectable for more than one combination of g<Sub>N-1</Sub> and g<Sub>N</Sub>. The modified signal g'<Sub>N</Sub> is applied to data lines in the display device. The modified signal g'<Sub>N</Sub> is set to be equal to g<Sub>N</Sub> if the difference between g<Sub>N</Sub> and g<Sub>N-1</Sub> is less than a threshold value.
