PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to drive a car with different three engine modes. SOLUTION: Three types of mode maps Mp1, Mp2, Mp3 with different drive force characteristics are stored in a storage means installed in an E/G_ECU 22. When an operator operates a mode selector switch 8, one of the mode maps Mp1, Mp2, Mp3 is selected. In the E/G_ECU 22, a target torqueτe is set from the selected mode map referring, a parameters, an engine rotational speed Ne and an accelerator openingθacc, a throttle opening signal corresponding to the target torqueτe is output to a throttle actuator 37, and a throttle valve is opened and closed.
