CONTENT KEY DATA DISTRIBUTION METHOD AND CONTENT KEY DATA DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM, AND PLAYBACK EQUIPMENT USED THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience by preventing a user from being troubled and further to effectively prevent illegal utilization of content data when transferring content key data or the like to playback equipment that does not include a communication function.

SOLUTION: A DVD player 70 generates a random number R and transmits a distribution request of content key data Kc added with the random number via a mobile terminal 60. A distribution server 40 encrypts the content key data Kc and the random number R associated with the request using user key data Ku and transmits them through the mobile terminal 60 to the DVD player 70. The DVD player 70 compares, in a comparator 714, the random number R that has been transmitted by the DVD player itself, with a decrypted random number and permits decryption of content data C based on a result of the comparison.
