PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pendant-type lighting equipment having an area lighting function and an indirect lighting function, which can perform homogeneous indirect lighting with no occurrence of unevenness of tone, and so on. SOLUTION: The pendant-type lighting equipment 11 comprises: a straight-pipe light source 51 disposed around a light guide plate 41 so as to enter light into an edge face of the light guide plate 41, and to irradiate also an upside of the plate with light; and an auxiliary light source 61 disposed inside the lighting equipment 11 from the straight-pipe light source 51 in the vicinity of an end of the straight-pipe light source 51, so as to irradiate above with light. Consequently, the straight-pipe light source 51 and the auxiliary light source 61 are made to be turned on at the same time. Since the auxiliary light source 61 irradiates the above so as to compensate a portion for having possibly insufficient illumination in the vicinity of an end of the straight-pipe light source 51, it is possible to enhance the illumination in the vicinity of an end of the straight-pipe light source 51, and to perform homogeneous indirect lighting with no occurrence of unevenness of light and dark.
