PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater for a vehicle capable of lowering a temperature without increasing a blow-out temperature even if an air volume of a blower is reduced. SOLUTION: This heater 21 has a blower 25, an air duct 23 introducing air blown from the blower 25, and a heater core 27 installed in the air duct 23 and using engine cooling water as a heat source. Heat is exchanged between the engine cooling water and the air by the heater core 27 to supply heating air. A throat 29 with a reduced diameter is formed to the air duct 23, and a ventilation hole 31 for taking air from the outside to the inside of the throat 29 is installed to the throat 29.
