PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crank press having a compact press structure. SOLUTION: The crank press which converts the rotating motion of a crank shaft 10 to the vertical motion of a slide 30 via a connecting rod 20 is equipped with a balancing cylinder 40 to keep a slide 30 lifted and a small head part 24 of the connecting rod 20 and a bottom 31 of the slide coming into sliding contact with each other in the lifted state. The small head part 24 is formed to a semi-cylindrical projecting part in side view, and a semi-cylindrical pressure receiving part 32 in side view is formed atop the bottom 31. The surface-to-surface contact of the outer peripheral surface of the small head part 24 and the outside surface of the pressure receiver 32 of the slide 30 transmits pressurizing force, and can therefore lowers the face pressure in spite of the large pressurizing force, making it possible to miniaturize the connecting rod 20 and the slide 30.
