PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide the order of failover processing according to the priority of nodes, and to prevent the delay of the restoration of the node high in priority. SOLUTION: In the method for succeeding a file server by the node of a local site 1 or the node of a remote site 2 when any failure is generated in the node of the local site 1, the priority of failover is set about each node of the local site 1, and the failover destination of each node of the local site 1 is set to any of the nodes of the remote site 2 or the local site 1 based on the relationship of the predetermined priority and the range of the failover destination, data are backed up to the determined node of the failover destination, and any failure between of the node of the failover destination is detected, and when the failure is detected by the node of the failover destination, the node of the failover destination takes the task.
