<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate the page number of paper located on the top sheet on which writing is performed when performing writing by an electronic pen with a plurality of sheets of paper overlapped. <P>SOLUTION: In a handwriting input system for using ultrasonic waves to obtain the coordinates of the position of an electronic pen, a method for installing an ultrasonic wave oscillation element connected to a receiver in a board to make the ultrasonic wave oscillating element transmit an ultrasonic wave and receiving the ultrasonic wave passing through paper by an ultrasonic wave receiving element or a method for installing an ultrasonic wave receiving element connected to the receiver in the board and receiving an ultrasonic wave signal transmitted from the electronic pen and passing through the paper is used to measure the strength of the ultrasonic wave passing through the paper by utilizing the matter that the ultrasonic wave attenuates during passing through the paper, the closet strength value is retrieved among preliminarily stored ultrasonic wave strength values in each number of sheets of paper, the number of sheets of paper mounted on the board is obtained, and the number is subtracted from the total number of pages of the paper to thereby be able to obtain the page number of an opened paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
