PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the provision of a sufficient differential limiting mechanism with respect to a differential mechanism accommodated and arranged in a housing with a limited space, and allow the securement of compatibility between the presence and absence of the differential limiting mechanism. SOLUTION: A differential mechanism 3 is accommodated and supported in a bell housing 7 integrally provided therewith so as to be common lubricating environment with respect to a transmission case 11 of a transmission. A differential limiting mechanism 5 for differential limit of the differential mechanism 3 can be selectively mounted outside the bell housing 7 so that the power transmission device can be sufficiently provided with the sufficient differential limiting mechanism 5 without constrain of the size of the bell housing 7.
