PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output device capable of safely and easily outputting an image data to an external apparatus. SOLUTION: When a transmission-destination computer for the image data is specified (S701), a screen saver is started in the transmission-destination computer through a network (S704). When a password for the screen saver is input and a release is indicated in the transmission-destination computer, the screen saver is stopped (S714). Consequently, when the completion of the screen saver is discriminated (S705), the image data is transmitted to the transmission-destination computer through the network (S706).
