<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of photographing wherein representation of a face is maximally optimized by discriminating a person of an object without losing the photo opportunity. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging device 31 images an image of the object 34 and an MPU 11 discriminates the face position and the size of the person in the object 34 according to a signal from the imaging device 31. Further, the MPU 11 determines a light quantity of an auxiliary light emitted from an auxiliary light emission section 16 at object photographing according to a reflection signal light from the face of the object 34.
