ELECTRONIC CAMERA AND IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus or the like whereby unique operations can easily be executed at face detection without losing the operability or the like when no face is detected.

SOLUTION: The electronic camera includes: an imaging element; a face detection section; an operation section; a monitor; and a control section. The imaging element photographs an object image. The face detection section detects a face region in a photographed image on the basis of an output of the imaging element. The operation section includes a plurality of switches for accepting entries by a user. The monitor can display a menu image whereby various settings of the electronic camera are executed. The control section switches between a first state wherein the face detection section detects a face region and a second state when the face detection section detects no face region for at least one of user interfaces being the operation section and the menu image.
