COMPOSITION ISOLATED FROM PUERARIAE RADIX FOR PREVENTION OR TREATMENT OF DIABETIC COMPLICATIONS AND A SEPARATION METHOD THEREOF

摘要

The present invention relates to compounds isolated from Puerariae Radix for treatment or prevention of diabetic complications and a method for isolating the same. More particularly, it relates to a method for isolating puerariafuran from Puerariae Radix which is effective in prevention or treatment of diabetic complications, prevention or delay of aging and prevention or treatment of cancers by inhibiting formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) which is a critical factor in the development of diabetic complications, and puerariafuran prepared therefrom. Puerariafuran, coumestrol, daidzein and genistein isolated from Puerariae Radix according to the present invention have inhibitive effect on production of AGEs which are factors inducing diabetic complications.
