PIEZOELECTRIC DRIVE UNIT, IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE, AND PORTABLE TERMINAL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit downsized and thinned, and also improved in shock resistance.

SOLUTION: The drive unit 1 has: a piezoelectric element 3; a weight 2 which is fixed to one end in the direction of expansion and contraction of the piezoelectric element; and a drive member which is fixed to the other end of the piezoelectric element. The drive member and the piezoelectric element abut on each other, having a spatial overlap in the direction of expansion and contraction of the piezoelectric element. The center of gravity of the weight is positioned in the vicinity of a plane which includes an abutting face where the piezoelectric element and the drive member abut on each other.
