PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distributed processing system allowing operation to a shared file system based on input of a command to one node. SOLUTION: By means of a file operation client 241 for a node 2D, to which a command for operating the shared file system 5 is input, file operation servers 242 for all the nodes 2A-2D constituting the distributed processing system are instructed to update shared file system management tables 243 individually held by them according to instruction content of the command, while the file operation server 242 for its own node 2D is instructed to update a node information table 41 and a device information table 42 inside a disk constituting the shared file system 5.
