The invention relates to pharmacy, in particular to stabilized topical formulation for treatment of infection caused by varicella-zoster mice or herpesvirus type I. The formulation contains brivudine and one or more metal-oxides pigments and pharmaceutically acceptable excipients.There is also disclosed the use of metal-oxides pigments as photodegradation stabilizers in topical compositions containing brivudine.
