PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hub unit for a drive wheel capable of suitably loading load and ensuring rigidity even when a transmission torque capacity can be increased while suppressing the size and weight from increasing. SOLUTION: The hub unit 10 for the drive wheel is provided with a hub 11; an outer ring 21; a first inner ring 22; a second inner ring 23; and a plurality of balls 24. A step 15 is provided on an outer peripheral surface of the hub 11, the inner diameter D<SB>14</SB>of a spline hole 14 formed on an inner peripheral surface of the hub 11 is set larger than the width W<SB>21</SB>of the outer ring 21, and the width W<SB>22</SB>of the first inner ring 22 is larger than the width W<SB>23</SB>of the second inner ring 23.
