DEVICE FOR CELL COUNTING AND METHOD FOR CELL COUNTING

A device for cell counting is provided to count cells having low cell density in a sample sensitively and inexpensively without additional cultivation or cell addition by using a magnetic label or magneto-resistance sensor, so that it is useful for diagnosis of AIDS or analysis of somatic cells in raw milk. A device for cell counting comprises: a cell adhesion substrate(10) for adhesion of a single cell coupled with a magnetic label on it surface, having a plurality of wells(11) corresponding to magneto-resistance sensors; a magneto-resistance sensor array(20) located under the substrate and having magneto-resistance sensors(21) for detecting the magnetic label, arrayed on a magneto-resistance sensor substrate(22); and a signal counting portion(30) which receives the signal generated by the magneto-resistance sensors and counts the signal number, wherein the label is a magnetic bead having diameter of 50 nm to 5 mum; and the magneto-resistance sensor is the GMR(giant magneto-resistance) sensor.
