PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pattern forming method and a droplet discharging device capable of avoiding positional deviation of a discharged droplet and thermal damage of a substrate and improving film thickness uniformity of a pattern made from droplets, and to provide a liquid crystal display device having liquid crystal discharged by the droplet discharging device. SOLUTION: An infrared ray heater 41 is disposed on the opposite side of sub-scanning direction (Y-arrow direction) of a discharging head 40. Therefore, when the discharging head 40 is scanned relatively in the main scanning direction along a second scanning region SA2, a first liquid film LF1 which is precedingly formed adjacently to the second scanning region SA2 is locally heated. Accordingly, when a second liquid film LF2 is formed, only the first liquid film LF1 precedingly formed can be made to have local low-viscosity and the temperature increase over the whole of a mother substrate MA can be avoided.
