APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING OF CHANNEL LIST IN A DIGITAL MULTIMEDIA BROADCASTING SERVICE

An apparatus and a method for providing a channel list in a digital multimedia broadcasting service are provided to change the arrangement sequence of a broadcasting channel list provided in a DMB service. A requested setting mode is determined if a key input to indicate the change of a channel list setting mode is generated(S401). A broadcast channel provided in a DMB service is searched and a general channel list is provided if a user random setting mode is detected. The switching to a channel list change mode is achieved if a predetermined channel list item is selected from the provided channel list. The selected channel list item is moved to a position corresponding to a user's request after the switching to the channel list change mode. The channel list is reconstructed to be in a state when the predetermined channel list item is moved(S411). The channel list changed correspondingly to the setting mode is provided.
