<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely find an aperture of a buried pipe based on a reception signal level, using an underground survey radar. <P>SOLUTION: This pipe diameter estimation method stores a correspondence table of a pipe diameter in a reference depth to the reception signal level (S1), conducts usual survey (S2), and finds a buried depth and a dielectric constant of a soil, based on different propagation times from two lines of reception systems (S3). A reception signal is inverse-TC-processed (S4) to find the reception signal level for estimation. The correspondence table in a reference signal is corrected based on the depth and the dielectric constant (S5), and the corrected table is compared with the reception signal level to estimate the pipe diameter (S6). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
