Sulcotrione (2-(2-chloro-4-mesylbenzoyl)-1,3-cyclohexanedione) crystalline modification II (I) is new. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a process for producing (I); (2) a herbicidal composition comprising (I) together with extenders and/or surfactants; and (3) a method for controlling unwanted plants, comprising applying (I) to the plants and/or their habitat.
