PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barrel polishing medium and a producing method therefor with remarkably improved polishing working efficiency using a barrel polishing device, and with abrasive grains fixed to a resin coat covering a spherical metal body surface. SOLUTION: In the barrel polishing medium stored in a barrel for polishing together with a polishing object and used for barrel polishing, the spherical metal body surface is covered with a resin coat material, and the abrasive grains are fixed to the coat material. A mean diameter of the barrel polishing medium is 0.1 mm or larger and 10 mm or smaller. The barrel polishing medium is stored in the barrel for polishing together with the polishing object and used for barrel polishing. The producing method of the barrel polishing medium comprises a step for coating the resin on the spherical metal body surface, and a step storing the metal body coated with the resin on the surface and the abrasive grains in the same container to agitate them.
