PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and weight of an actuator, in a lift variable valve gear of an internal combustion engine having a lift variable mechanism capable of changing a lift quantity of an engine valve and the actuator for driving the lift variable mechanism. SOLUTION: In this lift variable valve gear, the actuator 60 has a worm wheel 65 continuing with the lift variable mechanism, a worm gear shaft 77 provided with a worm gear 66 meshing with the worm wheel 65, an electric motor 62 having a motor shaft 71 having the axis parallel to the rotational axis of the worm gear shaft 77, and a speed reduction mechanism 67 arranged between one ends of the motor shaft 71 and the worm gear shaft 771, and is stored in the casing 61 fastened to an engine body by a plurality of fastening members 104 including a specific fastening member 104 arranged between at least the electric motor 62 and the worm gear shaft 77.
