A receiving device is provided with a variable band filter having a variable passing frequency band; a control section for setting the passing frequency band of the variable band filter to a plurality of passing frequency bands; and a detecting section for outputting data indicating qualities of signals of the passing frequency bands outputted from the variable band filter, respectively. The control section determines the passing frequency band of the variable band filter based on the data. In the receiving device, a receiving circuit can receive high quality signals.
