A digital television and a channel searching method in the digital television are provided to achieve prompt channel search and channel change when an analog channel is converted into a digital channel, or the digital channel is converted into the analog channel. A channel search unit(50) searches for the channel which currently receives a broadcasting signal. A channel selection unit(60) searches for a channel of digital broadcasting by using a digital tuner(20) when the channel from the channel search unit(50) is determined to be an analog channel. The channel selection unit(60) searches for a channel of analog broadcasting by using an analog tuner(10) when the channel from the channel search unit(50) is determined to be a digital channel. A storage unit(40) stores respective channels searched by the channel selection unit(60).
