<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a higher quality image that has uniform image density and excellent latent image reproducibility regardless of an image pattern by correcting the effect of sweeping. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image carrier 1; a charging means 2 for uniformly charging the image carrier 1; an exposure means 7 for exposing the uniformly charged image carrier 1 based on image data; and a developing means 3 for forming an electrostatic latent image, formed on the image carrier as a result of exposure by the exposure means 7, with developer conveyed by a developer carrier 30. The image forming apparatus is provided with a means 9 for calculating based on the data value of pixels located downstream of pixels corresponding to the image data in the sub-scanning direction, and then correcting the image data based on the result of this calculation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
