<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a package for housing a light emitting element that can improve light extraction efficiency when packaging a light emitting element as well as an auxiliary element assisting in the function of the light emitting element. <P>SOLUTION: The package for housing a light emitting element has an insulating substrate having on its front surface a region for packaging the light emitting element and on its rear surface a region for packaging the auxiliary element that assists the function of the light emitting element, a pad arranged on the front surface and electrically connected to the light emitting element, and a pad arranged on the rear surface and electrically connected to the auxiliary element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
