PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a delay time until an amount of residual ink is accurately detected, the delay time being caused by a bubble created in an ink tank. SOLUTION: Ink is reserved in the ink tank, and a diffusion face 474 having micro-irregularities formed thereon so as to generate a capillary force is provided to a part of a surface of a sensor arm which is displaced within a prescribed displacement path along with the reduction of the ink reserved in the ink tank. The diffusion face 474 is configured of a reference face 474a and a plurality of projections 474b protruding from the reference face 474a. The reference face 474a is connected to each projection 474b at an angle so as to form a corner 474c.
