PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the breakage of a catheter even when the rotation of the radial scanning of a probe is sped up in an image diagnostic system. SOLUTION: An information processing method is used in this image diagnostic system with which the catheter is connected, and is equipped with three processes. In the detecting process (steps S701 and 702), the motion direction of the probe in the catheter in the axial directional moving scanning is detected. In the judging process (a step S703), whether the rotation speed of the probe is changed or not is judged when the motion to the peripheral direction in the body cavity is detected. In the controlling process, the rotation speed in the radial scanning of the probe is controlled. In the controllion process, the rotation speed of the probe is decelerated (a step S704) when the execution of the change is judged in the judging process (Yes in the step S704).
