PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-sided image scanner for attaining high-speed processes through reduction in physical scale of circuit. SOLUTION: The double-sided image scanner is provided with a front surface image sensor 2a for reading the front surface side of a document, and a rear surface image sensor 2b for reading the rear surface side of the document to conduct the processes respectively by individual A/D converters 3a, 3b. This double-sided image scanner includes a memory 5 for one system to respectively store the data after the processes by the A/D converters 3a, 3b to a data region for the front surface and a data region for the rear surface, an image processing circuit 6 for one system for processing images by reading data from the memory 5, and a memory switching circuit 7 for switching the data region used by the image processing circuit 6 to access the memory 5 between the data region for front surface and the data region for rear surface depending on the predetermined condition.
