PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmitting chain excellent in effect for suppressing vibrations and having good transmission efficiency. SOLUTION: The chain 1 has a plurality of links 2, and connecting members 50 connecting the links 2 to be capable of mutually bending. A first pin 3 of the connecting member 50 is held by a pulley so as to transmit power between the first pin with the pulley. The chain 1 has a central area 26 regarding to a chain width direction W, and side areas 27, 28 on the sides of the central area 26. In the central area 26, links 2a to 2g neighboring in the chain width direction W are mutually pressed and abutted, and are relatively rotated while mutually exerting frictional forces along with the bending of the chain 1.
