<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inorganic fibrous thermal insulation material high in corrosion resistance, mechanical strength and durability, and to provide an inorganic thermal insulation material composition capable of producing the inorganic fibrous thermal insulation material. <P>SOLUTION: The inorganic thermal insulation material composition used for forming a thermal insulation material intended for use in contact with molten aluminum or aluminum alloy melt, comprises inorganic fiber, silicon nitride powder, a silanol group-containing inorganic binder, and water.
