PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic faucet for improving detecting accuracy of a washing object by a sensor, while reducing the difficulty of assembling and breaking of the sensor, in the pullout type automatic faucet for discharging and cutting off water on the basis of detection from the sensor. SOLUTION: This automatic faucet 100 has a faucet body 10, a water discharge head 20 freely attachable-detachable to the faucet body 10, a control means 50 controlling whether or not to discharge the water from the water discharge head 20, and a detecting means 31 capable of detecting the washing object washed by the discharge water from the water discharge head 20 and capable of outputting a signal on whether or not the washing object is detected to the control means 50, and is constituted so that the detecting means 31 is arranged in the vicinity of an attaching-detaching position of the water discharge head 20 in the faucet body 10, and has directivity in the water discharge direction of the water discharge head 20 in a state of installing the water discharge head 20 in the faucet body 10.
