PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical multiplexer/demultiplexer reduced in insertion loss and size. SOLUTION: The optical multiplexer/demultiplexer includes: a pair of optical fibers 10a, 10b, 10c, 10d, 10e having graded index type fibers 13a, 13b, 13c, 13d on one end; lensed fibers 3a, 3b, 3c arranged between graded index type fibers 13a, 13b, 13c, 13d and optically coupled thereto respectively; and optical filter members 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d arranged between the graded index type fibers 13a, 13b, 13c, 13d and the lensed fibers 3a, 3b, 3c.
