PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation sensor capable of reducing costs and excellent in assembly properties and detection accuracy. SOLUTION: The rotation sensor is provided with a detecting rotator 10, fixed cores 20 and 30, and an oscillation means. The detecting rotator 10 is provided with a sensing part having a changing width along a circumferential direction and has a center of rotation to rotate. The fixed cores 20 and 30 have exciting coils 22 and 32 and core main bodies 21 and 31 made of an insulating magnetic material for holding the exciting coils, are mounted to a holding member 40, and are opposed to the detecting rotator at an prescribed distance in an axial direction of a shaft. The oscillation means is connected to the exciting coils and generates oscillation signals of a specific frequency by oscillation. The detecting rotator is constituted of a disk-like insulating member 12 having a shaft through hole 12a at its center. The sensing part 13 is formed by adhering an electrically conductive member or a soft magnetic member of a prescribed shape to a surface of the disk-like insulating member.
