PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera shake correcting method by which a camera shake generated in still picture photographing can be corrected. SOLUTION: A camera shake correction section 24 reads imaging signals to a frame memory 24a separately multiple times within an exposure term and stores resultant image data, a changeover switch SW1 switches the image data from the frame memory 24a to a terminal (b) by a switching signal 16A and supplies the image data to a correlation operating section 24b and a frame memory 24e, and the correlation operating section 24b detects a camera shake amount based on the image data from the frame memory 24a and image data to be supplied next. On the basis of the camera shake amount, image data to be next supplied from a terminal (c) of the changeover switch SW1 are corrected, the corrected image data are composed with the image data read from the frame memory 24e, and the synthesized image data are stored in the frame memory 24e. On the basis of the synthesized image data and image data to be supplied after the next supplied image data, a series of correction processing of camera shake amount detection, correction composition and storage are repeated multiple times and an output of image data resulting therefrom is selected.
