PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a so-called memory breakage, particularly, loss of data written in a memory area by incorrect writing to the memory area by enabling detection of reading/writing to an incorrect memory area by a peripheral device which directly performs reading/writing to a memory without a CPU. SOLUTION: The simulator having a plurality of simulation masters and simulation memories to simulate an operation of a computer comprises a means for designating a simulation memory area to be accessed the simulation master, a means for monitoring the access to the simulation memory, a means detecting that the access by the simulation master is an access to an area on the simulation memory other than the designated area; and a means notifying, upon detection of such an access, that effect to a user.
