PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the rigidity of a planetary carrier 10 of a differential gear device equipped with a planetary gear mechanism. SOLUTION: A sun gear 6 is rotatably fitted to a concentric circle inside an internal gear 4. Between the internal gear 4 and the sun gear 6, a plurality of planetary gears 8 held by the planetary carrier 10 are arranged engaging with the internal gear 4 and the sun gear 6. The planetary carrier 10 has an annular base 10a and supporting columns 10b provided upright on the base 10a at certain spaces, and the planetary gear 8 is held between the supporting columns 10b. A round-shaped cutout 10c is provided in the outer face of a base portion of each supporting column 10b, and a recess 10d having a round-shaped peripheral wall 10da is provided in the upper face of the base 10a near the inner face of the supporting column 10b.
