PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light-emitting element and display device which can reduce the reflection of external light, while maintaining sufficient light extraction from an organic light-emitting element. SOLUTION: This organic light-emitting element is arranged, in the order starting from a light extraction side, a polarizing sheet 11, a prism sheet 12, a phase sheet 13, and an organic EL element 14 which is disposed in between a pair of electrodes. When the prism sheet is formed of a duplicate structure, apex angle of the sheet disposed on the organic EL element side is preferably smaller than that of the sheet disposed on the light extraction side, and each prism sheet is preferably arranged so that the pitch directions intersects mutually perpendicularly to others. Furthermore, the stretching direction of the polarizing sheet and the pitch direction of the prism sheet disposed on the light extraction side preferably intersect at right angles to each other.
