PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system and an information processing method which confirms safety of sub-systems for processing. SOLUTION: A first sub-system 10 includes an output means 104 which outputs an operation signal having an effect upon a second sub-system 20 at an arbitrary time, and the second sub-system 20 includes a detection means 20 which detects an operation state of the second sub-system 20 due to the operation signal. The first sub-system 10 includes an operation state acquisition means 120 for acquiring the operation state detected by the detection means 20 and a management means 122 for monitoring whether an information processing system 1 is normally operated or not on the basis of the operation state acquired by the operation state acquisition means 120.
