PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch input device and an input determination controlling method, capable of recognizing a problem of a part of contacts when a part of a switch having a plurality of the contacts, carrying out proper action, and having high reliability. SOLUTION: So as to determine whether the switch is started or not, a digital converting portion 31 detecting output signals SC1, 2 and output time of an on signal from each contact from the switch 16 equipped with the plurality of the contacts and converting that to a digital value, a determination value producing portion 33 producing an on determination value proportional to a number of the contacts outputting the on signal and the output time of the on signals of the contacts on the basis of a signal from the digital converting portion 31, and a determining portion 35 determining that the switch is started when the on determination value exceeds a predetermined on threshold value are provided. The determination time is structured to differ under a normal condition and an abnormal condition.
