PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element in which invasion of a deterioration factor derived from moisture or the like into an organic EL layer is prevented, and which has superior light emitting characteristics for a long period. SOLUTION: In the organic EL element having a light emitting part in which the organic EL layer is pinched between a pair of electrodes and an element board carrying the light emitting part, a first inorganic film has been installed on the light emitting part and the element board. Then, a second inorganic film is installed on this first inorganic film and the element board, and the end part of the first inorganic film is covered by the second inorganic film.
