摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refining method where, from the raw material of metal antimony including arsenic, selenium and iron as impurity elements, metal antimony in which the content of each impurity element is low can be efficiently obtained. SOLUTION: In the method for refining metal antimony where, using metal antimony comprising at least one element selected from arsenic, selenium and iron as the raw material, each element is removed, at least one selected from sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide and sodium nitrate are added to the raw material, and heating and melting are performed, and, preferably, sodium nitrate is further added. More preferably, the method includes a step where molten antimony freed from flux dross in the surface layer part of the molten body is solidified, so as to obtain melting-treated antimony; a step where the solidified flux dross stuck to the surface of the melting-treated antimony is removed, so as to obtain surface-treated antimony; and a step where the surface-treated antimony is subjected to etching with an aqua regia solution are performed.
