The gearbox (1) has a fixed gear (9,10,19,20) which is arranged in axial direction of the input shaft (2,3) provided between two loose gears (12-15,22-26) of each gear shift coupling (16-18,25), which meshes with a loose wheel of another gear shift coupling. A single gear shift coupling is provided adjacent to the gear shift coupling, by which a loose wheel is connected in a torque proof manner to the counter shaft (5,6) carrying the loose wheel.
