<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use driving force of a motor generator, in a hybrid vehicle equipped with an engine and the motor generator as a driving source for traveling. <P>SOLUTION: A first driving force transmitting path 46 transmitting the driving force of the engine E and the motor generator MG to wheels W through a belt type continuously variable transmission 24, and a second driving force transmitting path 47 transmitting the driving force of the motor generator MG to the wheels through a speed reducer 45 are switched. By switching to the first driving transmitting path 46 at the time of middle/high speed traveling, the driving force of the motor generator MG in addition to the driving force of the engine E can be effectively used. Furthermore, the vehicle can travel only by the driving force of the engine E according to a traveling state of the vehicle, or only by the driving force of the motor generator MG.
