PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making a composition for a hardcoat having high permeability, high hardness and high stability without accompanying curl and crack by solving the problems in a conventional technique; and to provide a hardcoat-type laminate using the composition. SOLUTION: The hardcoat composition is obtained by mixing (1) a curable resin with (2) a silica precursor having a functional group reactable with the curable resin (1) and obtained by subjecting an alkoxysilane having two or more hydrolyzable functional groups to acidic hydrolysis in an organic solvent.
