PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact/separation driving device of which the number of components is not increased in a secondary transfer part where a transfer roller is brought into contact with and separated from an image carrier. SOLUTION: The transfer roller contact/separation driving device moves a transfer roller 22 for pressing a paper to the image carrier, between a first position where the transfer roller is brought into contact with the image carrier and a second position where the transfer roller is separated from the image carrier, and the transfer roller contact/separation driving device includes; a contact/separation mechanism for moving the transfer roller 22 between the first position and the second position; a motor 34 capable of reversing a rotational driving direction; a first one-way clutch which transmits a driving force of the motor 34 to prescribed rollers for transporting the paper, as a rotational driving force only when the motor 34 is rotated in a first direction; and a second one-way clutch for transmitting the driving force of the motor to the contact/separation mechanism, which allows the transfer roller 22 to be moved between the first position and the second position only when the motor 34 is rotated in a second direction opposite from the first direction.
